Brown Bear, Grizzly, Kodiak. No, we’re not reviewing for a biology exam. Instead, we are inviting you to try some original beer flavors from this brewery on the outskirts of Opava. In the middle of a field, on an island of green by a little pond, you will find a picturesque 15th century watermill. Here, the brewmaster daily conjures up a proper golden brew in his shiny vessels. Come have a taste!
But beer isn’t the only delicacy that awaits you here. If you like fish, you’re at the right place. You can try out fresh, skillfully prepared fish specialties, such as a wels catfish filet, grilled pike or trout. And if you aren’t a fan of aquatic creatures on a plate, try a mouflon leg, chicken, sliced ox tongue or one of the many different products of Czech and world cuisine. The menu changes often, so you’re always in for a surprise. Following a hearty meal, try burning off some calories while bowling.
If you are a fan of fishing, try catching a trout from the local fish tank. Don’t worry about the fishing equipment - they can lend it to you at the mill. They will also gut the fish for you and package it.
The outside restaurant, beloved by bikers passing by, is operational from April to November, when the weather cooperates. The mill is right by bike path 551 from Opava to the Kružberk dam.
