The Lomná river rises on the Czech-Slovak border and feeds the peatlands in the nature reserve of Kyčmol.
The river, which was used by the local 'Goral' people (mountain folk) as late as the early 20th century for floating timber into Jablunkova, passes through the largest, old-growth Czech forest of Mionší
. In the center of Jablunkov
, it empties into the Olše (Olza) which then flows into the Odra river (the Oder) and finally, the Baltic Sea.
