Part of the industrial complex in Dolní Vítkovice also includes the modern Svět techniky Science Museum, where visitors can learn about the world and society in a fun and interactive way.
Svět technicky's Science and Technology Center is divided into the Children's World, World of Civilization, World of Science and Discoveries and the World of Nature. Visitors big and small learn about everything in entertaining ways or through 3D movies. Here, visitors can learn how the human body works or how storms and rainbows are formed. You can also travel through time to the world of mammoth hunters.

Svět techniky's Small World of Technology is built alongside the Science and Technology Center, revealing the mysteries of inventions. It begins with the steam engine, which launched other significant technical discoveries. Our smallest visitors can learn about things, such as how raw iron is made into steel. Another area introduces inventions by Jules Verne to discoverers.

The complex housing the Science and Technology Center and the Small World of Technology is one of the most popular places in Ostrava. It has become a favourite spot for tourists and class trips. Those who want to learn more about interesting technical facts can continue to Landek Park, home of the largest mining museum in the country. They can also visit the Michal Mine.
