The chapel was built in the 1930s by the parish priest Ploszek from Hnojník and includes an eighteen-metre high tower with a viewpoint. The views are towards the Czech-Polish-Slovak border. Access to the viewpoint can be arranged in the Kozubová tourist cottage, which is nearby.

The chapel of St.Roch and St.Sebastian, which formed the cemetery chapel of the old cemetery on the hill behind Fulnek and was part of the grounds of St.Joseph's Church, is also part of the Baroque history of Fulnek.

The cemetery was closed in 1903, but the chapel, whose origins date back to 1632, was preserved. You can recognize it by its roof in the form of a military helmet, which is reminiscent of the roof of the Black Tower in the centre of Fulnek.

Today, the Chapel of St. Roch and Sebastian serves as an exhibition space.

One of the most valuable monuments in Opava is the Chapel of the Holy Cross, also known as the Swedish Chapel. You will not find it directly in the historical centre of the city in the part called Kateřinky. The chapel is one of the historical buildings that can be visited with a guide and therefore an expert lecturer will guide you to this distinctive building.

The chapel impresses at first glance with its monumentality, with the red brick structure growing further on the stone lower floor. The first mention of this building dates back to the end of the 14th century, when Prince Přemek of Opava had it built as a shrine.

The original Chapel of the Holy Cross is now also called the Swedish Chapel because it served the Swedes as a place of Protestant worship during the Thirty Years’ War.

Today the chapel serves as one of the biggest magnets that attracts tourists to Opava. The original frescoes, although only their torsos have survived, represent Moravian monumental painting and depict the fifteen stops before the Last Judgement.

The Chapel of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary in Lipky stands on the outskirts of Rýmařov and is considered a pearl of Baroque art in northern Moravia. It was built near the old hermitage at the very beginning of the eighteenth century and the builder of this oval chapel was Friedrich Hösler from Rýmařov.

Four massive columns support the magnificent vaulted ceiling. The chapel is heavily decorated by the Olomouc painter Ferdinand Naboth, who died before he finished painting the chapel, so his work was completed by his pupil Jan Kryštof Handke.

The wooden bell tower in Jamartice is of such a peculiar shape that it does not resemble any architectural style. Most of all, it resembles a chess piece.

Článek Wooden bell tower in Jamartice se nejdříve objevil na Northern Moravia.

Its exact origin is not known, but one source claims that it was built at the end of the 19th century because the local Catholic priest refused to let the Old Catholics ring the death knell. The bell tower thus became the chapel of the Old Catholics in Jamartice and in the 1960s a small altar was placed there.

The wooden building with a ceramic mosaic commemorating the arrival of Cyril and Methodius has stood here since the 1930s. It is similar to the buildings designed and built in the Beskydy Mountains by architect Dušan Jurkovič, but Cyrilka, as the spring is called, is not his work.

Here you can sit in the shade of the trees, drink and get water for the next journey to the top of Smrk or comfortably through the Podolánky valley along the banks of the Čeladenka River.

The best preserved part of the ruins of the Hukvaldy Castle is the Baroque castle chapel dedicated to St. Andrew. The building dates back to the seventeenth century and its entrance is decorated with statues of Jan Nepomucký and František Xaverský.

On the main altar there is a picture of St. Andrew, the patron saint of the local region. At the end of November, pilgrimages are held here to commemorate the story of the Apostle Andrew, who, together with his brother Peter, was one of Jesus’ closest disciples.
