Northern Moravia and Silesia is a region in the eastern end of the Czech Republic, right in the heart of Europe. At its eastern end, it borders with the Orava region (Slovakia), to the north it edges the Opolean and Silesian voivodeships (Poland). Its southern borders touch eastern Moravia and the south west frontiers neighbor central Moravia and the Jeseníky region.
The City of Ostrava, the region’s capital, is very well accessible by car or train from Prague, Vienna, Bratislava, as well as the Polish side of Silesia. Regular flight connections allow visitors from distant places to come over as well.
