Austrian urbanist, architect and painter. He was born in the family of the Austrian architect Franz Sitte, who was of Czech origin. Camillo studied architecture in Vienna, before turning to history of art and archaeology.
At the end of the 19th century, he was commissioned by the city council to plan a housing development in the center of Ostrava –Přívoz. The most prominent buildings include the neo-baroque town hall (today’s headquarters of the Ostrava City Archive) and the neo-gothic parish Church of the Immaculate Conception of Virgin Mary. He designed a system of one-way streets for the narrow passages between buildings in the center. Sitte also worked on the new center of
Mariánské Hory; the local parish Church of Virgin Mary the Queen is his work.
