Tour guide services in Opava

Discover Opava’s architecture on guided walk with the tour series "Architektura staré Opavy" ("The Architecture of Old Opava"). Your guide will teach you about key buildings in the heart of the city.

Some of the monuments on the basic tour include the Saint Elizabeth Chapel, the Cathedral of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, the theatre, as well as the U Bílého koníčka building. The goal of the tour is to familiarise visitors with Opava’s pre-1945 architecture. To this aim, tour guides compare old photographs, ground plans, and an interactive model of the Opava of the year 1800. Thanks to this tour, you will learn not only about architectural history, but Opava’s history as well. If you are interested in descriptions in a foreign language (German and Polish are also offered), tours must be booked a sufficient amount of time in advance.

The tour begins in the foyer of the Municipal Office, where you can also buy tickets upon prior arrangement. The duration of the tour is 120 minutes.
