Tabulové skály (rocks)
You will see this miniature of the famous Petrovy kameny (Peter's Stones) on the way to the top of Praděd on your left.
They were formed by weathering and gradual crumbling of the rocks. This rock landmark was disturbed by the quarrying of stone used in the construction of the original stone lookout tower that stood on Praděd in the early 20th century. This is a rare site with glacial relics, especially the growth of the critically endangered smallest tree in the Czech Republic – the herbaceous willow (salix herbacea), which grows in the Jeseníky only here and at Petrovy kameny, and therefore the rocks are inaccessible to the public.
