Flaschar’s Mine

Experience complete silence and all-consuming darkness in one of only two accessible slate mines in the Czech Republic. With a helmet and a headlamp on your head, you will go on a ninety-minute adventure, where you will experience absolute darkness and silence, and those who love a bit of adrenaline will be able to climb down a 20-metre-long connecting chimney on ladders, together with a guide dressed in miners’ overalls - “fáračky".

In the mine shaft, where time seems to have stopped in the 19th century, the guide will introduce you to the hard life of the miners and tell the bittersweet story of the owners with a touch of romance. After the tour, you can then carve your own heart out of slate with special scissors as a souvenir and refresh yourself with drinks chilled on the “eighth step” right in the mine.
