From Malenovice to the Lysá hora

Lysá hora is the highest peak of the Beskydy Mountains and the heart of the Moravian-Silesian Beskydy Mountains with a height of 1323.5 metres. It is located about 20 km southwest of Frýdek-Místek and is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the region. The name of the hill is derived from the fact that the top of the mountain is bald, without vegetation. The top of the mountain is grassy with several huts and a transmitter.

Lysá hora is known for its harsh climatic conditions, with large amounts of snow in winter and a more pleasant climate in summer compared to lower-lying areas. The top of Lysá hora is accessible on foot, by bike or cross-country ski and offers spectacular views of the surrounding countryside. There is also a mountain cottage at the top where you can enjoy refreshments and a hot meal.

Hike from the Malenovice car park: this is one of the most popular routes to Lysá hora. It is a roughly 7 km long climb that leads from the car park at the Rajská bouda guesthouse. The climb is gradual but steady, so it is suitable for different fitness levels. The trip back can follow the same route.
