Center of Traditional Technologies of Příbor
One of the most significant buildings in the town of Příbor is the Piarist college from the end of the seventeenth century. Thanks to the Piarist Order, the town was the centre of education in this part of Moravia.
Today, in the beautiful premises of the monastery college, there is a museum that will introduce you to the traditional, often now extinct, production methods of processing natural materials. The Center of Traditional Technologies in Příbor is dedicated to research and presentation of handicraft skills. A small interactive “experimentarium” is open to visitors, where it is possible to touch many materials and try out some techniques.
Interesting fact: In the permanent exhibition you will see, among other things, a shirt made of nettle fibre, for which more than two thousand nettle stalks were used.
