Hůrky Educational Trail

The theme of the Hůrky Educational Trail is nature conservation and the forest. The Hůrky Educational Trail leads from the Hukvaldy square along the green and then along the blue tourist trail, in the direction of Podlesí, Babí vrch, Kubánkov. It continues to Kocián, Podhůří and ends at Olešná. The length of the route is 12.5 km, it is moderately demanding.

The Palkovické hůrky are part of the extensive Carpathian system, formed at the end of the Mesozoic and especially in the Tertiary by the action of several phases of Alpine wrinkling. The Palkovické hůrky were formed by the Silesian escarpment, with the sandstone Palkovice layers of Mesozoic Cretaceous age being the most prominent in the terrain.
