Educational trail following the volcanites

Even after two million years, the remains of the time when fire was shooting from the hills around Bruntál and hot magma was flowing through the landscape can still be seen. After all, the hills of Velký Roudný and Malý Roudný do not deny their volcanic origins and the hill of Venus Volcano makes its origin clear by its name.

If you want to learn more about volcanoes, you can walk or rather cycle along the educational trail around the Slezská Harta dam. The circuit is 25 kilometres long and at fifteen stops, visitors can learn about why lava erupted from the Earth’s interior here and where the remains of solidified lava can still be seen today.

And because the Volcanoes Educational Trail runs on both sides of the dam, you can use the Santa Maria sightseeing boat to ferry you across the water.
