Statue of the Running Girl in Opava

Opava and nearby Hradec nad Moravicí is a place where you can see several sculptures by the important Czech sculptor Kurt Gebauer. One of his most appreciated works, "Running Girl", which he created in the 1970s in metal, is on display in front of the House of Arts.

The Running Girl bears the clear handwriting of Kurt Gebauer, a native of Hradec nad Moravicí. Other sculptures that can be admired by visitors in Opava are his kinetic birds on Ptačí vrch (Bird Hill) in Opava or “Dream of Flying” at the entrance to the chateau in Hradec nad Moravicí.
