Aréna Chamber Theatre

Aréna Chamber Theatre, which was founded as a successor to Divadlo hudby (Music Theatre), which had been operating in Ostrava since 1951, has gradually developed into the top of the Czech theatre scene over the quarter of a century of its existence. This is evidenced by its exceptional successes on a national scale, culminating in four times winning the highest award of Theatre of the Year (2013, 2015, 2016, 2017).

It focuses on the so-called theatre of charismatic personalities, through which it presents interesting social themes. It presents them in a modern chamber hall for about 100 spectators. The foyer of the theatre, where various social events such as photographic exhibitions are regularly held, also offers an architecturally and design-wise attractive environment. For many years, the Aréna Chamber Theatre has been a company whose productions are regularly recorded by Czech Television and which is invited to prestigious Czech and international theatre festivals.
