Beskydské divadlo

This gorgeous building fits in with the original villas and palaces in the old part of town. It is a work of the important Viennese architect Thienemann, who also designed the exterior of other palaces in the historical centre of Nový Jičín, such as the district court building.

The magnificent house has stood in Nový Jičín since 1886, when it was built by German societies as a venue for balls, concerts and theatrical performances.

The theatre is one of the most important cultural stages not only in the town but in the whole of the Novojičínsko region. It features a wide range of theatre genres from operas and operettas to experimental theatre projects.
