Black Ostravice spring
The spring of Černá Ostravice is hidden in the deep forests near the Beskydy settlement of Bílý kříž. The spring is located near the Slovak border and gradually feeds the stream that formed the land border between Moravia and Silesia. Above the village of Staré Hamry, the Černá Ostravice flows into the Ostravice Bílá and together they form the Ostravice River.
The Ostravice is an important stream of the Moravian-Silesian Region. It has always formed the border between Moravia and Silesia and still divides cities such as Frýdek-Místek and Ostrava into Moravian and Silesian parts. In Ostrava, below the Landek hill, it flows into the Odra River.
