Church of the Three Kings in Břidličná
The Three Kings Church in Břidličná was built as a Protestant Lutheran church in the sixteenth century. Visible is an inscription in Czech and the coat of arms of Jan Kobylka of Kobylí, the last Czech owner of Sovinec Castle, under whose protection Břidličná fell in the Middle Ages.
After the Thirty Years’ War, the Lutherans had to leave Břidličná, if they wanted to stay they had to convert to Catholicism. The church is a testament to Renaissance architecture, not even the Baroque period. The church remained austere and simple.
