Historical Fortification Šance in Mosty u Jablunkova

Travel back to the 16th century to hear the stories of the soldiers who guarded the ancient Silesian-Hungarian border against smugglers and enemy raids.

The Jablunkov Šance are a typical example of fortification of a mountain crossing area. It is a unique fortification monument that has no comparable analogue not only in the Czech Republic. Velká šance in Mosty u Jablunkova formed the central point of this fortification system. Centuries ago, the šance prevented foreigners from entering the Jablunkov Pass and further into the country – today they attract visitors.
