Hošťálkovy Chateau
Already in the 17th century, under Jan Kryštof Skrbenský of Hřišť', a three-winged early Baroque chateau Hošťálkovy was built on the site of an older Renaissance fortress, which was built in the 16th century. Its original form has been largely preserved to the present day. Hošťálkovy Chateau is thus the most authentically preserved chateau in the Bruntál region.
In the middle of the 18th century, under the then owner Karel Traugott Skrbenský, the construction of the southern wing was completed, where a beautiful chapel and staircase wing with rich stucco decoration and mural painting by Jan František Jablonský was created.
The last major change in the building’s appearance was made by the Counts of Arco, who owned the building from 1831 to 1945. They added an Empire-style balcony portico and built-in rooms in the attic.
The interiors of the chateau, including the chateau chapel, can be seen on a new tour route.
