Moravian-Silesian Railway Museum
The industrial development of Ostrava in the 19th century brought, among other things, the development of the railway. In fact, it was a mutual symbiosis - without the rails, the shafts and ironworks could not live, and the rails themselves would be meaningless if they had nothing to transport.
You can learn about the history of railway transport in the Ostrava region at the Železniční muzeum Moravskoslezské (Moravian-Silesian Railway Museum).
You will find it in the Ostrava-Střed railway station building and you will see, for example, historical uniforms of railway workers and some objects or documents that still remember the famous Ferdinand Northern Railway. Not only children will be most interested in the opportunity to play as a diesel locomotive driver on a realistic simulator, model railways with trains running on three separate circuits or a historic locomotive standing near the museum building.
