Moravice Nature Park
Few places breathe such beauty and charm as the nature park around the Moravice River. Paddlers, cyclists, hikers and horseback riders love it here. Many people from the Opava region have built a cabin or a hut here, scouts and young men have their campsites here.
Below the Kružberk dam between Dolní Moravice and Branka u Opavy, the Moravice river has created a deep and often mysterious canyon. It is the last example of the undisturbed natural landscape of the Eastern Sudetenland with its original flora and rich fauna. Here you can admire centuries-old beeches and oaks, hornbeams and firs. The forests are home to all kinds of deer, including red deer. Wild boar and the rare badger have a home here. A large number of rare birds nest here, and you can also see the black stork.
There is a network of hiking trails through the park, several educational trails and many popular viewpoints overlooking the landscape and the river. One of the most famous is the Belaria viewpoint. The park also includes the chateau complex of Hradec nad Moravicí. Lovers of technical sights can admire the four-kilometre-long paper mill embankment in Žimrovice.
A visit to the park around Moravice can be combined not only with exploring the chateau in Hradec nad Moravicí, but also with the beauties of Opava, Kravaře or Raduň, which are nearby.
