Museum of the Hlučín Region

The chateau in Hlučín is the place where you can visit the new Museum of the Hlučín Region. The permanent exhibition is called "Who Are the People of the Hlučín Region" and is dedicated to the turbulent and very specific history of this region. The Hlučín Region developed in a completely different way from the surrounding towns and villages.

As a consequence of this, the Hlučín Region was not part of the Sudetenland after the Munich dictatorship, but was a direct part of the “Reich”. Men therefore enlisted in the Wehrmacht and went to the world battlefields, which of course meant huge human sacrifices for the whole area.

In the museum, you will certainly understand the whole turbulent history of the Hlučín Region thanks to the authentic stories of local natives.
