Open-air museum of folk traditions in Bolatice
If you want to travel back in time almost a hundred years and get to know what life was like in the Opava region, you can go to Bolatice. In a building from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, local people have opened a Folk Traditions Museum.
Bolatice enthusiasts, who wanted to preserve folk traditions for future generations, participated not only in the repair of the building and the creation of the open-air museum, but also brought most of the exhibits from their barns, cellars and attics.
Visitors can thus get an idea of how life was lived at the beginning of the last century and see the furnishings of the rooms, kitchen, stables and barns.
In addition to guided tours, the open-air museum is also a place where various social events are held to bring the traditions of village life to life.
