Štramberk
A slender stone tower with a typical canopy towers over the town of Štramberk. The tower is a remnant of a castle that stood here in the thirteenth century to protect merchants on their way to Hungary. Today, the tower is a very popular lookout point that virtually no visitor to the town can miss. A spiral staircase leads to a wooden gallery with open shutters on all sides.
From Trúba, the picturesque Štramberk is right under your feet, standing out against the backdrop of the surrounding hills. The Moravian-Silesian Beskydy Mountains are on the horizon, with clear skies you can see all the way to the Jeseníky Mountains. There is a great view towards Ostrava, where the wide flat landscape of the Moravian Gate with villages and towns around Ostrava and Frýdek-Místek stretches out.
