TATRA technical museum
If you want to see the very first automobile that ran on the roads in the Austro-Hungarian Empire, go to the Technical Museum in Kopřivnice. It was here that the Präsident was born in 1897 - a car that was not pulled by horses, but by an engine.
There are many other unique items in the museum! For example, the convertible donated to J. V. Stalin, the T 805, of the travellers Zikmund and Hanzelka, the off-road vehicle with which Karel Loprais won the Dakar Rally, the famous Tatra 138 of the famous Lambarene expedition, a unique motor sledge, a railway carriage and dozens of other pearls, including the most amazing inventions not only from the world of motoring. In a collection of several dozen polished beauties, everyone will surely find their motor favourite.
You can learn all sorts of interesting facts about the history of the automotive industry through multilingual interactive video boxes, film presentations containing a lot of authentic period footage from production, polygons, test drives, races… Or you can use your smartphones to get to know them!
The museum also includes a hall of fame dedicated to Olympic champion Emil Zátopek.
