Chateau park in Bruntál
The park around the chateau in Bruntál offers relaxation and contemplation in a quiet environment in the middle of the city centre. The origins of the garden date back to the 16th century, when representatives of the Order of German Knights regularly maintained the garden around the chateau.
The greatest modifications were made at the end of the nineteenth century by Eugene of Habsburg, the last Grand Master of the Order of the Habsburgs. He preserved the Baroque form of the garden at the front of the chateau, while other parts of the chateau form a landscaped park. In the grounds you can admire eleven sandstone statues, the remains of the former city walls with a bastion and the popular outdoor hall, called sala terrena, in the Baroque-style gardens.
