The Castle Park in Bruntál

You can relax in the quiet park surrounding the castle in Bruntál and, yet, still be in the town centre. The garden originated in the 16th century when the Teutonic Knights regularly maintained the garden around the castle.

Eugene of Habsburg made major changes at the end of the 19th century. He was the last Grand Master of the Teutonic Order from the Habsburg dynasty, who kept the Baroque garden by the castle facade and turned the rest into a landscaped park. Here, you can admire 11 sandstone statues, the remains of the former town fortification with a bastion and the popular outdoor hall called Sala Terrena.
