Karlova Studánka Spa

The Karlova Studánka Spa was built on the site of the original Hubertov metallurgical settlement. It happened, among other things, because the local mineral springs proved to have healing powers.

The first spring was called Maxmilián after the founder of the spa, Maxmilian II Francis, who was the Grand Master of the Order of German Knights to whom the area belonged.

Gradually, other springs were discovered, at first surface wells and gradually the healing waters were found underground. In the 1960s, the last spring, called Vladimir, was drilled more than a hundred metres underground.
