The Karlova Studánka Spa

The Karlova Studánka spa was founded at the metallurgical settlement called Hubertov because the local mineral springs proved to have healing effects.

The first spring was named Maxmilian in commemoration of Maximilian II Franz, a Grand Master of the Teutonic Knights, who owned this region.

Other springs were gradually discovered; first pools and later on underground springs. In the 1960s, drilling more than 100 meters deep discovered the most recent spring called Vladimír.
