Studénka Chateau

The chateau complex consists of the original Renaissance Old Chateau and the Baroque, Neo-Gothic rebuilt New Chateau, around which the English-style chateau park extends. Adjacent to the complex is the former manor house and the chapel.

After the completion of the new representative mansion, the Old Chateau began to serve economic purposes, a brewery and later a distillery operated here. Today, the Old Chateau is not only one of the biggest attractions for tourists to Studénka, but also an example of Renaissance art in Moravia and Silesia.

The new chateau was expanded by a tower and a turret with a spiral staircase. In the interwar years, the chateau premises were used as a business school for legionnaires, then as a hostel and infirmary during the war. After the Second World War, the chateau was severely damaged and repaired several times in the following years. When visiting this noble residence, visitors are first attracted by the marble staircase, which is embellished with a richly decorated cast-iron railing.
