Reeve’s House Museum

Reeve’s House Museum boasts the descriptive number 1, so it is the oldest preserved building. It stood here in the 16th century and today's brick building dates back to 1789.

It was in this very building that Ignác Šustal, the son of the local bailiff, began to manufacture the first britzkas and carriages in 1850, laying the foundations for the famous TATRA car factory. Today, the production of carriages, wagons and cars is one of the exhibits of the Reeve’s House Museum. Another part shows the folk customs of the local people and introduces the life of the inhabitants of this part of the Beskydy foothills. You will also see archaeological excavations, including the Šostýn Venus from Šostýn Castle. Visitors can learn more about the development of car manufacturing in Kopřivnice at the TATRA Car Museum in Kopřivnice.
