The Stations of the Cross in Cvilín

The Stations of the Cross on the Cvilín hill near Krnov attracts not only believers but also tourists.

The fourteen stops of the Calvary, i.e. the journey of Jesus Christ to Golgotha, stand in the vicinity of the Baroque Church of Our Lady of the Seven Sorrows. Thirteen of the chapels are of the Empire style, the fourteenth was built at the beginning of the eighteenth century and bears Baroque elements. The original depictions of the journey of Jesus were stolen, but today pilgrims can admire the restored chapels and copies of the original scenes. The Stations of the Cross is a national cultural monument, as is the church.

Another reason to visit Cvilín is the local stone lookout tower and the ruins of the castle.
