Nový Dvůr Arboretum

If you are a lover of shrubs and flowers, you should not miss the arboretum in Nový Dvůr when visiting the Opava region. Seven thousand plants from all over the world grow here, which you can see, for example, in the exhibition called "Trees of the Five Continents".

Most of the specimens grow directly in the gardens, tropical plants have found their home in the greenhouses. You will also find plants that love peat bogs or sand dunes. As you stroll through the park and gardens, you will be accompanied by giant trees that originated in Arizona or China, among other gems from the world of flora.

The foundation of the garden was laid at the beginning of the 20th century by Quido Riedler, the owner of the local estate, but today’s garden is many times larger and forms one of the most valuable botanical parks in Moravia and Silesia.
