Devil’s Mill on Gírová

At the foot of the Gírová Mountain, a rock formation called the Devil's Mill attracts attention. According to legend, devils and witches used to meet here. An even older legend tells the story of a devil who was supposed to build a mill for grinding people here in one night. Because he didn't manage to do it, he ran away and imprinted his hoof in one of the stones while running.

Those who don’t want to believe the tales can rather believe that at the time when the Beskydy Mountains were covered by a glacier, many rocks were weathered and caves were formed in various places. When the glacier melted, it left behind cracked rock formations and then it was up to the imagination of the local people to create a legend about them.
