Chateau Park in Hradec nad Moravicí

The Chateau Park, which surrounds the Hradec nad Moravicí Chateau, is the second largest park in Moravia and Silesia. Another unique feature of these huge gardens is the fact that they are not enclosed, but are freely connected to the surrounding landscape and flow into the surrounding forests. Some of the trees here are up to 400 years old.

The highest point of the park is Bezruč’s Lookout with a magnificent view of Opava and the river valley.The Lichnovský family, who owned the chateau, placed various stones and obelisks in the park to commemorate some important event or a special visit. One of the most famous is the stone with the inscription Bellaria, which is located at a beautiful viewpoint overlooking the river.
