Kanihůra Lookout Tower

The hill near the village of Bílov is not a steep mountain, but thanks to the surrounding flat landscape it offers one of the best views of the Poodří Protected Landscape Area. The peak is poetically called Kanihůra and in the past there used to be a wooden lookout tower here.

Today’s metal tower is over 60 metres high and there is an observation deck twenty-six metres above the ground. The view overlooks the entire Moravian-Silesian Beskydy Mountains, as well as the Hostýnské vrchy and Palkovické hůrky. The castle of Starý Jičín can be seen, the tower of Trúba Castle in Štramberk is unmissable. The whole Ostrava Basin with Frýdek-Místek and Ostrava is literally in the palm of your hand.

From Kanihůra, you can continue on to the Košatka pond, Studénka, Bílovec, Albrechtičky or other places in the Moravské Kravařsko region.
