Darkov Spa

Spas exist primarily to improve our physical condition but have always provided a pleasant opportunity for social gatherings, walks along the colonnade or listening to music. This is exactly the type of enjoyable day that visitors have spent at Darkov spa as early as 1867, when the first building was constructed here.

The fame of Karvina town soon spread beyond the borders of Austria-Hungary and the quality of health care has remained at the top level throughout the last 150 years. Iodine-bromine mineral spring water, called brine, was fortunately discovered by baron George Bees from Chrastiny while exploring coal reserves on the grounds of his estate.
 
The dominant feature of the local spa is the Art Nouveau architecture of the Community Centre including a dance hall and a few monumental villas. Guests enjoy walking and relaxing in the spa park. During the 20th century, the construction of a Rehabilitation sanatorium was begun at the other end of Karvina and a lot of procedures were moved to this new complex.
 
The spa also offers relaxing procedures and wellness stays. You can try some of the relaxation therapies at the Regeneration Center and Vitality World is dedicated to various bath treatments. In addition to relaxation, guests can take part in plenty of cultural events and dance evenings enriched with good food and drink in one of the many restaurants, cafés and bars.
