Kotula’s Timber House

If you like the charm of old folk buildings, then you will find one of them hidden in the middle of a panel housing estate in Havířov.

The wooden house has stood there since 1781 and is one of the oldest original wooden buildings in the Těšín region. Today, the building is open to all visitors who want to learn about the history of the area and what it was like in Těšín after the Second World War.Dřevěnka is one of the branches of the Museum of Těšínsko and besides the rural comfort in the meadow around the cottage, you can admire the tools used by people in the village and a small vegetable garden, which was not missing in any house. A barn, an original well and a wind-powered mill complete the grounds.
