Chateau Park in Kunín

Like the whole chateau, the surrounding chateau gardens have almost disappeared. Today, it is once again a real park, where the trees are well maintained and thus belong to the favourite walks of local people as well as visitors. The park with its beautiful, mature trees is one of the places where newlyweds are often photographed after their wedding ceremony.

The park has, of course, undergone many changes since the glory days of the estate. From a French garden, it was transformed into an English-style park and various buildings, gazebos, seating areas and the famous (and now restored) skittle alley were added. Since 1999, the owner of the chateau and the park has been the municipality of Kunín, which had the area restored after half a century of decay. The gardeners used the existing mature trees, which are more than 250 years old, and planted new trees and shrubs. The pride of the park are the growths of various trees and the magnificent pedunculate oaks.Today, thanks to the chateau and the park, Kunín is a popular tourist destination and one of the greatest jewels of the Moravské Kravařsko region and the Moravian-Silesian Region in general.
