Filipka Hill near Jablunkov
The original Wallachian pasture at the top of Filipka Hill is the place where the nature reserve of the same name was created.
It protects an important juniper locality. This prickly shrub, which was common in the mountain areas of the Těšín Beskydy and Wallachia, is becoming increasingly rare. The juniper needs a lot of sun, which is why it has thrived in well-kept pastures. As soon as the pastures become overgrown, the juniper retreats. This is why juniper is now very rare even in areas where it thrived and was used by the highlanders and Wallachians for its medicinal properties.
In addition to this shrub, you can also admire rare butterflies at Filipka and it is one of the sites where snakes live, including the very rare but venomous viper!
