Lookout tower at the top of Velký Javorník

Velký Javorník is the highest mountain of the Veřovické vrchy, which form the westernmost foothills of the Moravian-Silesian Beskydy Mountains. The new wooden lookout tower with views of the Beskydy Mountains and the Jeseníky Mountains stands at the top of the 918-metre-high mountain.

From here you can see Lysá hora and Kněhyně, the Ondřejník ridge and the chapel on Radhošť’. Below the peak you can refresh yourself in a stylish tourist cottage from 1935, from which you can enjoy views of Frenštát and further towards Ostrava.

There is a hiking trail along the ridge of Veřovické vrchy, and in winter you can find great cross-country skiing trails on the mountainside.
