Na Pomezí Caves

Near the town of Jeseník there is a cave Na pomezí, which is open to the public. It is a karst cave with stalactite decoration, which allows a short tour in which visitors will pass through several large areas, so-called domes, and see many stalactite formations.

The Na pomezí cave is one of the many karst caves in the area. An important one is the Na Špičáku cave near Supíkovice, which is said to have served as a hiding place for the teacher of nations, Jan Amos Comenius. He hid in this area after he had to leave Fulnek. The Czech brothers even had a makeshift prayer room here.
