The Town Hall Tower in Krnov

The tower of the town hall in Krnov can be seen from a long distance. Its heterochromatic roofing is rather unique. It was built at the beginning of the 20th century at the original medieval town hall.

Leopold Bauer, a native of Krnov and a well-recognised architect, wanted to build his hometown’s town hall. However, the town councillors did not approve his grand-scale modern design and chose, instead, the Neo-Renaissance design of another architect.

The town hall tower is open to the public and regular tours are provided there. The Savings Bank Palace, with an Art Nouveau café, is next to the town hall.
