Town hall tower in Krnov
The tower of the town hall in Krnov can be seen from a great distance. Its roof is made of multicoloured roofing and is therefore quite unique. The building was built at the beginning of the 20th century on the site where the town hall had stood in the Middle Ages.
The town hall in his hometown was to be built by the renowned architect and native of Krnov, Leopold Bauer. However, his generous project in a modern architectural style was not approved by the town council, which preferred a Neo-Renaissance style by another architect.
Today, the typical town hall tower is open to the public and tours are regularly held here. It is adjacent to the Savings Bank Palace, where you can sit in the Art Nouveau café.
