Museum of Nursing at the Silesian Hospital

It is not usual for people to come to the hospital to visit the museum. The Silesian Hospital in Opava is a rarity and, among other things, you can learn about the history of treatment here.

The Museum of Nursing is an example of how medical science has developed over the last decades. Here you will see instruments used by doctors during the Austro-Hungarian Empire and mannequins dressed in the period costumes of nurses and doctors. The museum actually came into being by chance – the instruments were collected by the head nurse, who persuaded the hospital management to set up this museum in an empty pavilion.
