Training shaft for miners

The tunnel, which was created as a training area for new miners to learn about the underground spaces of the mines, is now also open to the public. Visitors can get an idea of what it is like in the mines.

The corridors are underground near the Staříč Mine, where coal is still mined. Visitors can reach a depth of about five metres. The tunnel is equipped with working mining machines. For visitors, this means that they get to know how coal is extracted from the depths of the earth.

The underground is always guided by former miners, so people who know the environment intimately. They can tailor engaging talks about working underground to the needs of groups.
