Pustevny is one of the most popular mountain resorts in the Beskydy Mountains. It has earned its name due to the fact that the peace and quiet was enjoyed by monks who, in the late eighteenth century, came here find solitude, ie hermits.
The mountain range, which stretches toward the mythical peak of Radhošť, offers great views of the mountains and the town in the valley.

An old road, the so-called Prince's Way, leads to Pustevny which serves cyclists and cross-country skiers in winter. Another way to get to the top is by chairlift, which is actually the oldest of its type in Europe, since it was built back in the 1940's.

At the peak, there are a few chalets, the most famous being the folk buildings by the architect Dusan Jurkovic. Hiking trails lead to Radhošť or to a mysterious place called 'the Devil's Mill'. In winter, a great ridge trail leads from Pustevny to the chalet Martiňák and on the hill of Pustevny itself, there are several ski lifts.
